중국문화교육의 현황과 시청각매체 활용방안에 관한 연구 : 고등학교 중국어교육을 중심으로 = A Study on Current Conditions of Chinese Culture Education and the Methods of Utilizing Audio-visual Media; With focus on high school Chinese language education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to explore the efficient methods of Chinese culture education in high school Chinese language education class. Culture education enables the learners to gain an in-depth understanding of the corresponding language by grasping cultural elements implied in the language. In addition, the learning motivation can be provided naturally for the students by stimulating their curiosity through culture education. Accordingly, this research attempted to explore the methods to utilize audio-visual materials for effective culture education. The major contents are summarized as follows.
First, the concepts of culture and the audio-visual media were examined and the importance of culture education in the language education and the necessity of culture education utilizing audio-visual media were discussed.
Second, the current conditions of culture education performed in high school Chinese classes were examined through the analysis on the culture education units of the existing 9 different Chinese I textbooks. The contents and composition of the culture section of each textbook and the interrelationship with the contents of the main text were analyzed. Based on the results of the analysis, one Chinese I textbook in which the culture section was most effectively structured was selected. And the problems of the overall culture education domains of Chinese I textbooks were analyzed and the improvement methods were presented.
Third, the efficient teaching and learning methods in culture class with focus on the theme of culture of the selected textbook were explored. The appropriate audio-visual media in accordance with the theme of culture were collected and the methods of utilizing these materials effectively were presented.
Based on this research, the development directions of Chinese culture education utilizing audio-visual media are presented as follows.
Firstly, it is effective to collect the audio-visual media that are most in tune with or closely connected with the class contents. It is because the time to convey rich and in-depth contents utilizing audio-visual materials can be secured by reducing the time for teachers to add supplementary explanations.
Secondly, the functions of CDs, which are the supplementary learning materials provided by the 9 publishing companies, which have published the current Chinese I textbooks, need to be reinforced. It is considered that the efficiency of culture education will be enhanced by the authors of the textbooks through providing CDs that contain audio-visual materials of more diverse and substantial contents.
