The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationship between the Korean college students’ life stress and suicidal ideation, especially the mediating effect of maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation and frustrated interpersonal needs. The study included a sample of 534 college students. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. It was found that both maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation and frustrated interpersonal needs partially mediate the relationship between life stress and suicidal ideation among college students in Korea. Additionally, the partial dual mediation effect of the two intervening variables was also found. Based on these findings, therapeutic implications as well as limitations of the current study were discussed.
