신경림 시론의 변화 양상과 그 의미 = A Study on Transformational Aspects in Sin, Kyeong-lim's Poetics and its Meaning

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 신경림 시론의 변화에 초점을 맞추고, 그의 시론을 총체적으로 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 지금까지 신경림의 시는 많은 연구자들에게 주목을 받았지만, 그에 비해 그의 시론은 연구 대상으로 주목받지 못 했다. 그렇지만 그의 시론이 1970-80년대에 민중시론으로서 매우 중요한 역할을 하였고, 1980년대 말부터 생명시론으로 변화해가면서 새로운 시대의 시론으로 의의를 획득하고 있기 때문에 그의 시론을 자세하게 살펴보는 일은 매우 중요하다.
신경림의 시론은 흔히 민중시론으로 그 특성이 요약되어 왔다. 이러한 평가는 그의 시론이 가지고 있는 리얼리즘적 특성을 부각시킨 것으로, 신경림 시론이 가진 모더니즘적 특성을 가볍게 보거나 간과한 한계를 가지고 있고, 따라서 신경림 시론을 총체적으로 살피지 못하였다.
신경림 시론은 1980년대 말부터 변화한다. 이 때를 기준으로 전기와 후기로 나누어 본다면 전기에는 그의 시론에서 리얼리즘적 특성이 매우 강조되었다. 신경림은 사회에 대한 시의 공리성을 강조하면서 시인의 시대적․사회적 역할을 강조했다. 이는 효용론과 모방론적 시관이 강조된 것으로, 시의 내용성에 너무 치우친 한계를 드러낸다.
그러나 후기로 오면서는 개인의 심미적 쾌락성과 시의 독자성을 인정하면서 전기에 리얼리즘적 특성에 치우쳤던 시론에 모더니즘적 특성이 균형을 이루게 되었다. 다시 말하면 존재론과 표현론적 시관을 포용하면서 그의 시론이 전보다 풍성하고 견고해졌다. 내용과 형식이 조화를 이루게 된 신경림의 시론은 이제 ‘시는 스스로 충만한 한 그루 나무’라는 유기체시론 또는 생명시론으로 발전하게 되었다.
신경림 시론은 초기의 리얼리즘적 특성이 강조된 시론에서 모더니즘적 특성을 수용하고, 다시 생명시론으로 발전하면서 1970년대 이후 변화되어 온 한국 현대 시론의 한 모습을 보여주고 있다. 그리고 신경림의 시론은 모든 것이 경제가치로 환산되는 세계화 시대에서 시가 가야 할 한 방향성을 제시하고 있다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study has the purpose for examining into the poetics of Sin, Kyeong-lim as a whole, while at the same time focusing on the changes in it. By this time, though many researchers have chosen the poetry of him as a subject for their study, comparatively no effort can be witnessed to bring his poetics forward for the same. In the 1970-80s his poetics showed the mass appeal, while in the 1980s it had started getting transformed into poetics with vitality, that helped secure its place significantly as the poetry for new generation.
The poetical value of Sin, Kyeong-lim has always been summarized on its mass appeal. The reason is, the realism of his poetry has always predominated the modernism.
His poetics has started to transform since the 1980s. If we divide this era into the first and last halves respectively, we can see realism to have been emphasized in the former. He took an utilitarian view of society while emphasizing on the periodical and social duties of a poet. He has also emphasized on the utility and imitation theory in his poetry and showed a biased view towards the realistic value in the content.
But in the later half, he admitted the aesthetic pleasure of a person and individuality in a poem while at the same time redressed the balance between the predominant realism with the less considered modernism. It'd be better saying, in his poetry ontology and expression has been conjoined equally to give it a rich and strong value. Thus, with the harmony in the content and form, his poetics have developed physically and vitally.
The poetics of Sin, Kyeong-lim have travelled all the way from realism to modernism, which in turn developed into vitalty later. In the later 1970s, with its new transformed look, it has become the face of Korean modern poetry. The significance of his poetry lies into the direction which is to be followed by the poetry of this global society, where every single thing is measured with mere monetary value.
