5 GHz 비면허 대역에서의 첨단공항무선통신망(AeroMACS)과 무인항공기(UAV) 간의 공존 연구 = A Study on the Coexistence of Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication Systems and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the 5 GHz Band

The increasing demand for air travel and the growing threat to airport safety with regard to vehicles, equipment, and personnel, have led to the adoption of the aeronautical mobile airport communication system (AeroMACS) in many countries. However, UAVs also operate in the AeroMACS band (5.1 GHz), which raises concerns about mutual interference. In this study, we used the minimum cou- pling loss and Monte Carlo methods to determine the minimum separation distance that prevents mutual interference between AeroMACS and UAVs. Through analysis of the interference between AeroMACS and UAVs, the minimum separation distance was found to be in the 6.4∼25.2 km range, depending on the receiver sensitivity. These results confirm the possibility of coexistence between the two systems, provided that a certain protection distance is maintained.
