This study aims to examine the restoration and transmission process, procedural structure, and musical characteristics of the Seochang Manduri Pungnyeonje, which has been transmitted in Seochang-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City. The Seochang Manduri Pungnyeonje is an agricultural ritual that reenacts manduri, the final weeding of rice paddies in agrarian society, and has been passed down through a local community-based transmission system. This paper organizes the background of its establishment and current transmission status through a literature review and field investigation of the 27th Seochang Manduri Pungnyeonje, and analyzes the reenactment procedures by dividing them into sequential stages. In addition, the Mojjigi sori, Mosimneun sori, Nonmaegi sori(first, second, and third weeding songs), and Jangwonjil sori performed during the festival were transcribed and analyzed in terms of rhythmic structure, pitch materials, melodic progression, and tori. As a result, the Mojjigi sori, Mosimneun sori, Nonmaegi sori, and Jangwonjil sori are structured in a three-beat, four-meter rhythmic pattern, while the Mosimneun sori also appears in an extended form of three-beat, twelve-meter structure, equivalent to four repetitions of the three-beat, four-meter cycle. Each piece is primarily based on the Yukjabaegi tori and Gyeong tori. By organizing the structure and musical characteristics of the Seochang Manduri Pungnyeonje, this study seeks to concretely present the restoration and transmission of deul-sori within regional agricultural culture.
