홀리스틱교육에 기초한 다문화캠퍼스에서 외국인 학생들의 교육 및 생활 실태분석과 효과적인 지원방안 연구: 서울 K대학을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 21세기 대안적 교육패러다임인 홀리스틱교육의 시각에서 외국인 학생들의 교육․생활 실태와 문제점, 애로사항 등을 진단해 보고, 교육 및 생활적인 만족도 등을 분석하여 효과적인 지원방안을 도출하였다. 이 연구에서의 주요 연구결과를 살펴보면 외국인 학생들은 유학생활 초기에 안정적인 정착을 위해 기숙사 입주를 선호하였으며, 한국친구와의 대인관계는 매우 부족한 것으로 분석되었고, 유학생활에 필요한 정보는 먼저 유학 온 친구나 선후배들에 의해 필요한 정보를 수집하고 있거나, 홈페이지 또는 가이드북 등의 정보채널을 주로 이용하는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 외국인 학생들이 유학생활 중 느끼는 애로사항은 한국어 부족으로 인한 의사소통의 어려움이나 공부에 대한 어려움 또는 중압감, 한국 음식문화에 대한 부적응 등의 일부 사례에서 다소 애로사항을 느끼고 있었으며, 유학생활 중 주요 상황별 도움 필요도는 유학형태별로 학부 유학생은 학업 과정상의 도움이, 학부 교환학생은 한국어 습득에 관한 도움이 보다 절실한 것으로 분석되었다. 외국인 학생들의 유학생활 만족도에서 언어교육원 연수생은 의료생활 영역에서, 학부 교환학생은 음식문화 측면에서, 학부 유학생은 수업 및 학업성취 영역에서, 대학원 유학생은 여가생활 부분 등에서 다소 낮게 나타났고, 전반적으로 한국 학생들과의 친목 교류 프로그램, 한국 문화체험, 외국인 학생을 위한 아르바이트 및 취업 정보 서비스 등의 요구도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to identify the effective ways to support the foreign students in multicultural campus based on holistic education gradually changed by the effort for globalization of colleges by examining the status, problems and difficulties in life and learning of foreign students and analyzing their satisfaction on learning and living. The major results of the study are described below. First, the foreign students preferred to live in a dormitory for stable settlement at the beginning when they started learning in Korea. The interpersonal relations with Korean friends are not sufficient. Second, the foreign students got the necessary information for learning in Korea from the friends in the similar situations who started learning in Korea earlier than them. In addition, the main channels to get information includes homepages or guidebooks. Third, the foreign students in Korea felt the most serious difficult in communication due to the insufficient Korean language. Some of students felt difficulty in learning, a sense of oppression and in adapting themselves to the Korean food. Fourth, for the demands of help by major situation during learning in Korea, the urgent demand of foreign undergraduates was the help for learning program and that of exchange students was the help for learning Korean language. Fifth, in the analysis on satisfaction of foreign students on learning in Korea, the students in language institutes showed lower satisfaction on medical service, the exchange students in colleges on food culture, the students in colleges on class and academic achievement and the students in graduate schools on the leisure activity. Finally, the foreign students had the high demand in friendship programs with Korean students, Korean culture experience and part-time jobs or employment information service for foreign students.
