북한의 수령형상문학을 논함 = Discussion on the President-Imaging Literature

North Korea is trying concetrate the nation`s power by forcing personal worship for the president and making myth, and seeking for eternal ruling over the nation by heredity system. This work led to brutal slay of the opposing in political field and the establishment in the ideology of subjectivity, memorable structure, and literary-artistic production of the president image in culture. The historical genealogy on the creation of the president-imaingin in literature is as follows: the period of armed-struggle against Japan(1925-1945.8), the period of 6.25 Korean war(1950.6-1!353.7), the period of post-war reconstruction(1953.8-1959), and the period of establishment in the ideology of subjectivity. Most of all, North Korea`s president-imaging literature reached the peak after the series of events that 4.15 literature-art creation party was established, and Emortal History, a series of history was written and published. The party first published 1932 by Geon, Jeong-woong in 1972, and its series continuted until the twentieth volume, Seungnii(Vict0ry) in 1994. The series has following problems: First, The problem of truth in history. The series of works goes through historical place and times in order to give vividness to literary worth. Moreover, they refer to many actual character and place in novels. However, the writer accepts Kim, Il-sung`s armed-struggle against Japan as only revolutionary tradition in North Korean history, and intentionally reduces and distorts on other anti- Japanese movement. Second, the series cannot escape from basic category in myth-creature and persuit, and all characters and events were described in point of mesiah. Therefore, the hero Kim, 11-sung is a heaven-sent man, and his perfectioness is beyond description. Third, Conventional symbolism. The series uses excessive honorific titles and sentences with excessive suffixes, stereo-typed symbols, such as `blizzard of distress`, `the glow of sunrise`, and `morning star`. Other symbolic decriptions are used to depict him. In conclusion, North Korea spent a great deal of man power and financial efforts to support nation`s worslup for Kun, 11-sung and maintain his political systems. But, this president-imaging creation excluded people`s literary field to express their emotion, reduced and united subject matter in North Korea literature, which led to `20th century myth` that is separated from the nation`s lives. The creation in literature and art can be described as artists` unique expression of characteristics and tempers. But, this united creation can evidently be an obstacle to the development of literature and arts in North Korea.
