춤추는 몸``의 인식에 관한 탐구 - 무용작품 <Body`s monologue>의 체험분석을 통하여 = A Study about the Awareness of the ``Dancing Body`` - An Analysis of the Dance Work〈Body`s Monologue〉

In this paper, the author explores the dancing body through my consciousness of my own work <Body`s monologue>, I used a qualitative research method called Practice based Research in Dance for this study, I analyzes a critical term that is the ``dancing body`` and describes how to carry out the process of practice and research, after which I study the historical context of the ``dancing body``. The strategies chosen by <Body`s monologue> in order to enhance the potential of communication, were a newly composed music, costumes giving more convenience to dancer`s movements, and a choreographic trial to invent more natural movements for bodies. In this work, the body of the dancer was dealt as the very subject of human being. The movements of the dancer`s body led the composition of the music work. So it tended to connect a dancing body (I) to watching bodies (audience) making both parties become simultaneously interested in the movements of the other`s body, and being so close that they could hear each other`s breath. The costumes were made in such a way that there was freedom to deliver the stories of the body, and freedom for the body to move. The choreography was composed with movements which could express emotions more effectively focusing on inner communication. The research in this paper will hopefully have implications on the structures of communication in dance performances. The study also aspires to encourage more research using PBR methodology by practitioners in the Korean dance field.
