Many enterprises have recently been pursuing process innovation or improvement to attain their performance goals. To align a business process with enterprise performance, this study proposes a performance-centric business process management framework (PBPMF). PBPMF supports the design-time and run-time of the business process management (BPM) life-cycle. A process-based performance measurement model (PPMM) is used as a major tool in the framework. The proposed framework is validated by applying it to a real business process of two reference companies.
By using the proposed framework, company staff involved in the business process improvement can determine processes with the greatest influence on a strategic level KPI, and can evaluate the performance of re-designed processes for BPM design-time. And company staff involved in the business process management can monitor KPIs and business processes effectively for BPM run-time.
