국제 결혼자의 정체성 위기 극복을 위한 연구 -미국 남성과 결혼한 한국인 중년 여성을 중심으로- = A study on overcoming the identity-crisis of intercultural marriage couples

국문 초록 (Abstract)

국제 결혼자는 국적이 다른 사람과의 결혼이 이루어짐으로 인종, 문화, 언어가 다르기 때문에 커다란 혼란과 위기를 겪을 뿐만 아니라 그가 속한 가정과 사회적 위치 속에서 정체성의 위기를 경험하게 된다. 또한 한국의 문화적 특성과 배우자의 타문화를 함께 공유하게 되는 이중문화를 갖게 되면서 가정 안에 새로운 문제들이 등장하게 된다. 중년기의 특성을 가지고 있는 국제결혼 여성은 ‘내가 누구인가?’에 대한 질문을 하면서 자신의 독자적 정체성을 수립하고자 하는 욕구에 직면하여 위기를 경험한다. 특히 국제결혼이라는 특수한 변인을 가지고 있는 중년기 국제결혼 여성의 자아정체성 위기는 혼혈아의 문제와 폐쇄적인 사회적 특성에 따른 위기, 주변으로 부터의 소외와 배제에 따른 위기, 그리고 이중문화에 따른 위기의 문제로 특징지을 수 있다. 혼혈인에 대한 사회적 인식의 편견과 결손가정으로 인해 발생하게 되는 부부의 문제와 혼혈청소년들의 정체성 혼란은 그들로 하여금 정체성의 위기를 느끼게 하는 커다란 요인이 된다. 또한 이것도 저것도 아닌 사람들로 특징 지워지는 그들은 폐쇄적인 사회적 특성에 따라 사회의 중심부에 위치하기 보다는 주변적 지위에 머무르게 됨으로 사회적 정체성의 위기를 겪게 된다. 그들은 주변으로부터 소외당하고 배제되는 경험을 하게 되고, 타 문화권에서 부적응의 문제가 나타나면서 민족 정체성의 위기를 경험하게 되기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 중년기 국제결혼 여성이 겪는 정체성 위기의 문제를 성경적인 방법으로 해결해야 할 필요성을 느끼고 성경적 정체성의 확립, 성경적 가정관의 확립, 가족관계 회복을 통한 정체성 확립, 사랑과 섬김을 통한 정체성 확립이라는 극복방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Intercultural marriage couples experience identity-crisis in their family and society as well as tremendous confusion and crisis because of different race, culture, and language between two spouses. Particularly, Korean middle-aged women face many problems because they have to be involved in dual-culture of Korean culture and American culture. These problems occur in diverse types in family. Women in intercultural marriage women with such middle-age characteristics experience crisis through facing with desire to establish their own identity, asking themselves, "Who am I?". Especially, the identity-crisis of middle-aged women in intercultural marriage, who are in the special situation as intercultural marriage can be characterized with crisis rooted in the problem of mixed blood and closed social characteristic, crisis according to indifference of neighbours, and crisis derived from dual-culture. Prejudice toward mixed-blood, children problem caused out of broken family, identity crisis of mixed-blood teenagers make middled-age women in intercultural marriage face with identity-crisis. They also experience social identical crisis such as insolation from neighbours because they can not participate in any side of society on the reason that they just married foreign people. Middle-aged women in intercultural marriage also experience confliction between generations and face with difference of a sense of values and language in which they are involved with the problem unable to adjust in the foreign culture. In the process they experience racial identity-crisis to humiliate their own race through comparing with advanced countries. Thus, this study seeks to establish biblical identity, to establish biblical family view, to establish proper identity through recognition of family relation, and to establish biblical identity through love and service on the basis of need to overcome biblically identity-crisis middle-aged women in intercultural marriage have experienced.
