As population aging and housing insecurity increase, intergenerational housing has emerged as a promising approach to addressing socialisolation and housing challenges. This study examines perceptions of intergenerational housing and community needs among youngeradults(20s–30s) and older adults(50s–60s) in South Korea. A nationwide online survey was conducted with 1,144 respondents, and the datawere analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, chi-square tests, and independent-samples t-tests. The results showed that older adults hadgreater awareness of intergenerational housing and a stronger willingness to participate in intergenerational activities. Both age groupsidentified social interaction as the primary motivation for participation. However, younger adults placed greater emphasis on practical benefits, such as housing affordability and convenience, whereas older adults valued mutual support and social participation more highly. Communityfacilities were grouped into six factors, and intergenerational programs were classified into three factors. Older adults showed strongerpreferences for social interaction spaces and participation-oriented programs, while younger adults preferred convenience-oriented facilities andself-development activities. Care services were highly valued by both groups. These findings suggest that successful intergenerational housingshould combine generation-specific strategies with shared spaces and support services that promote everyday interaction and mutual support.
