This study tried to identify the meaning of Gyeryongsan represented in the contemporary poetry of Korea. Gyeryongsan(mountain) were important objects in traditional poetry. The representation of the Gyeryongsan in the contemporary poetry of Korea is closely related to a specific seeing approach. The Gyeryongsan is expressed by the de-perspective seeing approach, in other words, the traditional aesthetic attitude of contemplation. By this attitude a poetic subject and the Gyeryongsan see each other. The poetic subject sees the Gyeryongsan around it from the perspective of the object oneself. The object is oneself. One breaks the moving self with the unmoving oneself. Accordingly, the existence of Gyeryongsan is not exposed by the perspective around the poetic subject. It is to the aesthetic signification of the life poetics in the contemporary poetry of Korea. Besides, Gyeryongsan reminded poets of tragic wounds in the modern and contemporary history of Korea. For instance, the poetic subject of Lee eungbong represents Gyeryongsan as historical context, that is aesthetic perspective of the wounded in tragic history of Korea.
