진로장애감소 집단상담 프로그램 효과 = Effects of Group Career Counseling Program on Reducing Perceived Career Barriers

The present study was conducted to verify the effects of group career counseling program, which was proposed by Soo-hyun Kim (2008) in an attempt to reduce psychological/ environmental career barriers that regional college students perceive and further to improve their problem-solving skills. The program consisted of 8 sessions in total. The participants in each of the four experimental groups (N = 36) completed a battery of paper-and-pencil measures, including the Career Barriers Scale, the Career Decision- Making Scale, the Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Social Problem Solving Inventory before and after the program. Results from analyses of covariance showed that participants` level of perceived barriers significantly decreased, whereas their self-efficacy and social problem solving significantly increased. Implications for counseling college students and some guidelines for implementing the program are discussed.
