The purpose of this study is to examine the social factors contributing to the improvement of youth baseball performance in Incheon. In order to achieve the research objectives, three Incheon Little League coaches, two Little League association officials, one Incheon professional baseball team representative, and two parents of Incheon Little League players were selected as research subjects, and data was collected through in-depth interviews. The results obtained from this study are as follows:
First, Incheon’s municipal Little League teams were able to enhance their performance by establishing a smooth player supply system through active support from the local government and securing professional coaches. Second, due to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines, the types of sports consumption changed, and the participation rate in outdoor sports increased, leading to a higher baseball enrollment rate. Third, the circulation model of SSG Landers positively influenced the revitalization of baseball in the entire Incheon region. In particular, the successful operation of municipal Little League teams and the increased baseball enrollment rate due to COVID-19 prevention guidelines had a greater impact due to the trickle-down effect of SSG Landers.
