    The web-based testing system(WTS) is designed and implemented to increase the self-directed learning through web-based self-directed evaluation. It provides the framework of evaluation model in learning and instruction through the interaction of the instructor and the learner. This study is to apply the online interaction and the user interface on self-directed evaluation and management of web-based test under the conditions of producing, taking, assessing, reporting of web-based test items. Web-based testing system(WTS) reduces time and money for producing, taking, assessing, reporting of test items along with transcending spatial-temporal limitations in web-based environment. This object oriented system facilitated the future development of computer-based adaptive testing(CAT) and XML based application development of online test items. In this paper, the various types of test constructing process has been designed and developed by presented online self-directed evaluation model. Self-directed evaluation model has been identified for self-directed learning by user/manager issues as follows: 1) test category selection/input, 2) test information reading/input, 3) test taking/production, 4) self-directed test application/practical use. Above activities are performed in order by the main options of user/manager. User includes the main menu options of log-in, membership application, management application, test search, my test, order information, link, and help. Manager includes the main menu of test production of environment, production, analysis, demo, and transmission of tests. In addition, online interaction among evaluators, applicants, administrators, professionals, and learning materials are constructed in each menu to facilitate the online communication. This study also explored the user interface factors to integrate unthreatened information, unity, stability(color, button, screen composition), and cohesion of functions.
