      The most apparent embodiment of the influence of A New Story of Mr. Triton lies in the later creators' extension of the role of Mr. Triton and its rich connotation. The imitative object of its narrative type of humorous stories, A Story of Mr, Triton, uses the word “triton”,which is rich in Oriental religious color,from Iwaya Koami’s fiction Baron Blowing the Triton to guide the reader's perception beyond the actual geographical limitations and experience of where the story happen and to approach their daily life, and presupposes that the story is only a fantasy joke by the preponderance of the word. The following of A New Story of Mr. Triton inherits the idea of “orientalization”,and gives the word “triton” in the story to awaken the goodness of the traditional oriental civilization to surpass the connotation of the modem western ideology. In Xu Zhiyan's fiction Electrical World, though the essence of “rejuvenation”,“the natural electricity” is still the same as Xu Nianci's “invention of the void world” and the same origin as the eastern classical philosophy, but Xu Zhiyan’s vision of national “rejuvenation” of Mr. Triton was successfiilly achieved in the form of national war. Compared with science fictions in the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of Republic of China, which is more and more far away from the traditional oriental culture and becomes more homogeneous in the war narrative of the nation-state, A New Story of Mr. Triton, inadvertently transcends the barriers of national confrontation and touches on the distance between the classical and the traditional and the sadness of the alienation of modem people in the capital society, which is perhaps the most valuable part of its text itself.
