Carbon naonotubes are considered as the best material in the field of composites because of their mechanical, tribological properties. In this study, carbon nanotubes coated Ni were dispersed in the base metal which is aluminum to improve the wettability between aluminum and nickel. The friction and wear behaviors of aluminum-carbon nanotube coated Ni composite were investigated using a pin-on-disk wear tester under unlubricated condition and evaluated using SEM and EDX analysis. All the results demonstrated that the addition of carbon nanotubes coated Ni significantly improved the wettability of CNT in the aluminum, resulting in enhanced friction characteristics and wear resistance of nano composite.
