해양산업과 연계한 부산시 디자인산업 정책 방향 = The Perspectives of the Design Industry Policy of the Busan Metropolitan City for Marine Industry

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Design industry draws attention as the powerhouse for international competition and national economic growth, since it provides vitality to urban economy, propels urban economic activities, improves the quality of citizens`` life, and cultivates creativity for the society, in the advanced globalization and under the reduced governmental control on industry and manufacturing. Because of these reasons, more and more cities and countries pay attention to design industry. Design industry provides software competition factors, and less developed countries are not able to keep track of the industry of developed countries. Design industry is an adequate measure for developing cities and countries to change the track of industry of low-added value from low productivity of manufacturers to that of high-added value from advanced service industry, by flexibly dealing with diversified market demands. Recently, the Southeastern local governments, such as the Metropolitan City of Busan, the Metropolitan City of Ulsan, and the Kyeongnam Province, make an effort to promote design industry as their strategic local industry. The Metropolitan City of Busan passed a law to foster marine industry, selected the slogan Busan, the Capital City of Marine, and started to nurture marine industry systematically. The City further included Marine Industry and Design Industry as two of ten strategic industries for the future of Busan. The Metropolitan City of Busan is justly called the city of industries since it has various industries, research centers and educational institutions, and it has the potential to make a synergy effect on each of marine industry and design industry. This study aims to provide the perspectives of design industry in relation to marine industry for the benefit of the Metropolitan City of Busan. More concretely speaking, this research proposes the design policy system, design policy perspectives, and blended marine design, on the basis of the blended industry of design industry and marine industry, which will be the strategic industries of the local government of the Metropolitan City of Busan.
