This study examines the life and philosophical characteristics of Jeong In-hong(1535~1623), a scholar and militia leader during the turbulent midJoseon period, and explores the relevance of his leadership to modern entrepreneurship. Jeong maintained his principles and beliefs in spite of political instability, and as a militia leader during the Japanese invasions of Korea, he pursued collaboration, protect people, and public welfare in his leadership. His life offers valuable lessons not only as a historical figure but also as a model of leadership for today’s entrepreneurs. This study also identifies four core leadership dimensions derived from Jeong’s life: integrity and principled commitment, critical thinking and courage, growth through self-reflection and continuous learning, and decisive leadership in times of crisis. These dimensions illuminate how ethical conviction and publicoriented values translate into trust formation, competitive resilience, and long-term organizational sustainability. Jeong’s leadership exemplifies ethical leadership and social responsibility, offering valuable lessons for contemporary business leaders. This study contribute to provide some insights into modern management by analyzing the leadership of historical figures.
