      그라비올라 껍질 추출물의 생리활성 연구 = A Study on the Bioactive Characteristics of Annona Muricata Bark Extracts

      This study aimed to discover whether water and 70% ethanol extracts of Annona muricata. bark can be used as materials in cosmetics through bioactivity such as antioxidation, antibacterial and anti-inflammation. In order to determine the antioxidant activity of Annona muricata bark, we measured the total polyphenol content, 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging activity and electron donating ability. The total polyphenol content of the water and 70% ethanol extracts were 16.90±0.13 mg/g and 13.88±0.30 mg/g, respectively. The reducing power of extracts was increased in a concentration-dependent manner and water extract had a similar to reducing power to that of the 70% ethanol extract. In an antibacterial activity test, the extract showed relatively high antibacterial activity against E. coli, S. epidermidis, and S. aureus. The anti-inflammatory test measured the nitiric oxide (NO) inhibition effect cells at an appropriate concentration after checking cytotoxicity in RAW264.7 cells. Anti-inflammatory activity by NO assay showed lipopolysacchride (LPS)-induced NO was significantly inhibited following treatment with Annona muricata bark extracts and decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. The expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) proteins were significantly inhibited following treatment with Annona muricata bark extracts at 100 μg/ml. These data suggest that extract of Annona muricata bark have antioxidation, antibacterial and anti-inflammation activity. Accordingly, it can be concluded that Annona muricata bark extracts can be used as a natural ingredient in cosmetic material.
