This study aimed to derive integrated criteria applicable to the design of dance programs for older adults through an integrative review of international physical activity guidelines and domestic and international literature on older adult dance. As a result, the design criteria were systematized into three domains: program objectives, program components based on the FITT principle, and program structure. The program objectives focused on functional orientation, multi dimensionality, stage-based progression, transferability to daily life, and safety and sustainability. The program compo nents emphasized progressive intensity regulation centered on low- to moderate-intensity activity, multicomponent phys ical activity, and sustainable participation through appropriate session frequency and duration. The program structure consisted of a session flow including warm-up, main activity, and cool-down phases, with flexibility according to partic ipants’ functional levels. The design criteria derived in this study conceptualized older adult dance as a practice-based activity that integrates functional physical activity with emotional and social experiences and provided theoretical and practical foundations for practitioners to design older adult dance programs applicable to educational and field settings.
