정보화, 고령화, 고밀화와 도시성장에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Urban Growth with Information, Aging, Centralized Society

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 정보화, 고령화, 고밀화가 도시성장과 어떠한 관계가 있는가를 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 우리나라 전체 도시를 대상으로 1995년과 2005년의 센서스 자료를 이용하여 실증적 분석을 실행하였다. 연구결과 정보화는 인구와 고용의 성장에 정(+)의 관계를 나타냈고, 고령화와 고밀화는 그 반대로 부(-)의 관계를 나타냈다. 최근에 급속히 진행되고 있는 지식정보화산업의 성장은 도시의 인구와 고용을 성장시킬 것으로 예측되며 도시의 집중을 강화할 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 최근의 급속한 고령화는 도시 활력의 악화로 기술혁신을 저해시켜 도시의 성장에 역기능으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 지속가능한 도시개발의 수단으로 제시되고 있는 고밀화는 우리나라의 경우 도시의 집적경제성이 없는 것으로 나타나 최근의 도시재생 등의 사업에 대한 면밀한 재검토의 필요성을 제기하는 결과이다. 정보화, 고령화, 고밀화는 여러 단계를 걸쳐 진행되고 그 단계에 따라 도시성장과의 관계도 다양하게 나타날 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 초기단계이며 단일기간을 분석한 본연구의 결과에 기초하여 도시성장과 정책에 대한 명쾌한 단일 결론을 단정하는 데는 한계가 있어 향후 지속적인 연구의 필요성이 제기되고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between urban growth and information, aging, centralized society of Korea urbanized area. The data employed is Population and Housing Census 2% sample for 1995 and 2005. The results of this study are summarized as follows. Informationizing has positive relationship with urban population and employment growth. But aging and centralized city is negatively related with urban population and employment growth. The results suggest that city government should reexamine recent urban polices to coup with rapid changes of urban environment. Because of single term analysis, it is difficult to suggest a clear policies of urban growth. So we need further more study on this issue.
