장애인의 자립생활 패러다임과 장애인복지 서비스의 실천전략 = The Independent living paradigm and social service practice strategies for the Handicapped Persons

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This dissertation is to explain and suggest the independent paradigm and social service practice for the handicapped persons. The handicapped persons resist the dependence on others. Dependency implies the inability to do thins for oneself and cosequently the reliance upon others to carry out some or all of the tasks of everyday life. They want to participate in the decision making and community living. As well as, they want to self-control on their lives.
Independent paradigm is support to their assertiveness. Independent paradigm suggest that the individual needs no assistance whatever from anyone else and this fits nicely with the current ideological climate which stresses competitive individualism. Independent living forms part of the terms of the international civil rights movement of disabled people.
Through this paper, relevant ideologies and values of independent living for the disabilities such as consumerism, self-help, political and economic rights, normalization, social integration, and empowerment were presented. Also, practical principles of social service and service orientation of independent living for the disabilities were presented.
