The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of variables on the employment and wage standard of people with disabilities and report how the effect of each variable differs according to sex. To achieve this, this study developed a research model based on the selective theory, which was formed based on suspicions about the theory of human capital Also, this study attempted to report the moderating effect of sex based on the job competition theory and the dual labor market theory. Research results are as follows. First, for the socio-demographic characteristics of the first dependent variable, employment, it was verified that a higher chance of employment was presented for younger individuals with a mild degree of disability, specifically the disability of mental or physical function rather than disability of the internal organs. Furthermore, it was presented that disability was related with mental function, existence of spouse, and employment service experience differently influenced employment according to sex. Next, for the socio-demographic characteristics of the second dependent variable, wage levels, it was verified that wage levels was increased among married individuals presenting a higher degree of disability, specifically disability of internal organs than of mental function. Among human capital characteristics that influenced wage levels, it was presented that higher wage levels was provided for high school graduates with a 3-year college education or less when compared to subjects with an academic ability less than that of a elementary school graduate. This study predicted that wage levels would increase among individuals with certificates and verified that the wage levels was presented higher among men than women. In addition, research results presented that wage levels was increased among regular employees with longer work experience and longer monthly average work hours. According to the analysis on the moderating effect of sex in the effect of factors on wage levels, it was verified that sex moderated a total of 6 variables, including degree of disability, age, existence of spouse among socio-demographic characteristics and level of education (excluding middle school graduates), certificate, and regular/non-regular work status among human capital characteristics.
