초기 청소년의 또래애착과 우울 간의 관계에서 학교유대감의 종단적 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 초기 청소년의 또래애착과 우울 간의 관계에서 학교유대감의 종단적 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 D광역시에 소재한 K초등학교 학생 156명이었다. 이들을 대상으로 초등학교 5학년부터 중학교 1학년까지 1차(초5), 2차(초6), 3차(중1)자료를 1년 간격으로 세 차례에 걸쳐 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 자기회귀 교차지연 모형을 활용하여 분석되었다. 분석결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 이전 시점의 또래애착, 학교유대감, 우울은 각각 이후 시점의 또래애착과 학교유대감, 우울을 유의하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 이전 시점의 또래애착은 이후 시점의 학교유대감에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 이전 시점의 학교유대감은 이후 시점의 우울에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 학교유대감은 또래애착과 우울 간의 관계를 종단적으로 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 또래애착이 학교유대감을 매개로 하여 초기 청소년의 우울에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 그러므로 초등학교에서 중학교로 전환되는 과정에서의 또래애착은 학교유대감을 완전 매개하여 우울에 영향을 미치게 된다는 점을 주목하여, 전환기에 놓인 초기 청소년의 학교유대감에 대해 연구자들은 더욱 관심을 가질 필요가 있다. 또한 이러한 결과는 초기 청소년의 우울에 대한 개입과 예방 시 학교에서 교사 및 교우들과 긍정적인 관계를 경험하고 소속감을 느낄 수 있도록 돕는 노력이 중요하다는 것을 의미한다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 초기 청소년의 우울의 예방과 개입을 위한 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the longitudinal mediating effects of school connectedness on the links between adolescents’ perceived peer attachment and depression. Data were collected from 156 students attending K elementary school in D metropolitan city at three different time points (T1=elementary school 5nd grade, T2=6nd grade, T3=middle school 1st grade, respectively). The results of this study were as follows. First, previous periods of peer attachment, school connectedness, and depression were experienced were shown to be significantly predictive of subsequent periods of peer attachment, school connectedness, and depression. Second, peer attachment had a significantly static influence on later school connectedness. Third, prior school connectedness had a significantly negative influence on depression. Forth, school connectedness showed significant, longitudinal partially mediating effects on the links between peer attachment and depression. The implications for prevention and intervention in depression as it is experienced by adolescents are also discussed.
