This study examined the effect of literature therapy on preventing suicide with <Choi-Chuk Geon>. It was possible from the perspective of literature therapy because ill mind can be treated by literature. Ok-Yeong`s self narrative was inspected at first. She had had five suicide crises and five suicide attempts for her whole life. She was precarious for she had only her mother to serve. That`s why she considered suicide before tried to make a good plan for survival whenever she had to be separated from her husband due to the war. The woman in her forties or fifties was assumed for the subject of literature therapy with <Choi-Chuk Geon> because her age let her understand and share Ok-Yeong`s feeling. She was expected to get comfort and courage, thus satisfy void in her self narrative through Ok-Yeong`s life. Then, suicide crises or suicide attempts could be converted into suicide prevention. Consequently, it can be inferred that subject of literature therapy is effected largely by work narrative. Moreover, it might be possible that the subject of literature therapy can fulfill his/her self narrative.
