The cartoon book series of 『Magic Thousand-Character Classic』 which published in November, 2003 became a big hit as a million seller and was sold 12,000,000. This book was awarded from a variety of prizes. As a result, lots of related publications, performances and events were produced. A 『Magic Thousand -Character Classic』 syndrome shows our twofold attitude regarding education of children chinese characters in Korean society. Regarding children education of this, parents show a keen interest but on the contrary, chinese characters`s places are reduced in public education field such as middle and high school. With this twofold education situation, how can the chinese character education would be developed for children? This dissertation suggests as follows: First, Chinese character subject should be scheduled in elementary school if it is reduced in middle and high school. Second, diverse edutainment methods`s introduction such as 『Magic Thousand -Character Classic』 should be considered for children chinese character education. Third, useful and interesting books about oriental and chinese character class are needed to be developed. As some parts of Korean, Chinese characters are effectively educated in Korean society and through this, children will enjoy richer language and cultural life, if the above are realized.
