The purpose of this study is present the policy direction for korean financial supervisory by looking for ways to enhance independence, accountability, and transparency. Exploring overseas and domestic cases, this study suggests that the financial supervisory should be separated from government and real politics in order to ensure independence for stable and clear role not in conflict with the accountability. And the stakeholders of the financial markets should be given the clear objectives and activities. In particular, it is necessary that financial supervision policy should depart from the financial development policy and economic policy. Moreover transparency and motivation strengthening structure is needed to ensure the independency of supervisory. These secure the undisputed protection for financial consumers and stabilization of financial system in Korea.
