This study developed an urban smart farm leafy vegetables cultivation vocational rehabilitation intervention program using intervention mapping (IM) to present an efficient vocational rehabilitation intervention program to promote basic job skills acquisition and improve skills required for the developmentally disabled in the urban smart farm field. The development of an urban smart farm leafy vegetable cultivation intervention program for the developmentally disabled was conducted from May to November 2023; furthermore, an urban smart farm leafy vegetable cultivation vocational rehabilitation program for the developmentally disabled was developed through steps 1 to 4 of intervention mapping (IM). In addition, a research method was planned to determine the effectiveness of the intervention program through steps 5 and 6.
As a result, 20 intervention programs according to 18 change goals (COs) were developed, and quantitative and qualitative research methods were planned to verify their effectiveness. Based on the results of this study, conclusions and tasks are presented as follows. First, we propose additional research considering environmental factors. Second, theories and models for vocational rehabilitation of people with developmental disabilities focusing on urban smart farms should be developed. Finally, using the urban smart farm leaf vegetable cultivation vocational rehabilitation intervention program developed in this study, it is proposed to be applied to various classes-including not only the developmentally disabled, but also elderly and the physically and mentally disabled.
