This study was carried out to investigate the generation and physicochemical composition of solid waste for safety disposal and the design and construction of incinerator in Taegu city.
The components of combustible component was 78.4% of solid waste, the components of garbage, papers, and plastics was 95% of combustible component.
The annual generation rate of solid waste is 1.04 kg/c·day and the highest solid waste was generated in winter.
The physical contents of garbage, papers, and plastics were 42.2%, 21.4%, and 10.8%, respectively.
Bulk density of solid waste in fall, winter and spring were 118 kg/㎥, 107 kg/㎥, and 119 kg/㎥ respectively. And average value of bulk density was 114 kg/㎥.
Average moisture content, volatile solid, and fixed solid of solid waste were 39.0%, 33.4% and 27.6%, respectively.
Average contents of C and 0 were 18.8% and 11.4% by elementary analysis of composite solid wastes.
