일제 강점기 김천좌(金泉座)의 역사적 변모 과정 연구 = A Study on the Historical Transformation Process of Kimchenjwa(김천좌) during the Japanese Occupation Period

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 김천의 지역 극장 김천좌(金泉座)의 역사적 변모 과정과 그 의의를 살피기 위해 구상 기획된 연구이다. 이 연구에서 중점적으로 고찰하는 내용은 김천좌의 역사적 흔적이다. 즉 김천좌가 어떻게 건립되었고, 1910년대에는 어떻게 운영되었으며, 1920∼30년대를 거치면서 어떻게 변화하였는가에 대해 일차적으로 주목하였다. 또한 김천좌의 건립 세력과 그 문화적 배경, 운영자들과 운영 방식, 그리고 변화의 이유와 주도 세력에 대해서도 논구하고자 하였다. 이러한 역사적 이해는 궁극적으로 김천좌가 담보하고 있는 연극영화사적 의의와 지역사적 특색을 드러내준다. 김천좌는 경상북도 제 2의 도시로 불릴 정도로 성세를 누렸던 김천을 대표하는 극장이었지만, 일제 강점기 대부분의 지역 극장이 그러하듯 일본 자본에 의해 잠식당한 대표적인 사례에 해당하는 극장이기도 했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis is a project that is planned to investigate the historical transformation process of Kimchenjwa(김천좌) as the local theater of Kimcheon. The focus of this study is the historical traces of Kimchenjwa. In other words, this study focused primarily on the construction method of Kimchenjwa, the way of operation in the 1910s, and the changes and reasons for the 1920s and 1930s. In addition, this study sought to discuss the founding group of Kimchenjwa and its cultural background, the operators and the way they operated, the reasons for change, and the leadership(management). This historical understanding ultimately reveals the historical significance of Korea `s dramatic film history and the local historical characteristics that Kimchenjwa guarantees. Kimchenjwa was a theater representing the city Kimcheon, which was so popular that it was called the second city in Gyeongsangbuk-do. Kimchenjwa, however, was a theater that was a representative example of the Japanese financial crisis, as is the case with most local theaters during the Japanese colonial period.
