아동중심의 아동지표 연구 = A Review Study on the Child-Centered Child Indicators

This study aimed at finding the possibilities and guidelines to develop a child-centered indicator through reviewing the existing studies on the child indicators and the state of the children, which have been conducted in Korea and some countries with internationally advanced perspectives. The study reviewed the contents of the selected indicator items and the procedures of developing each of indicators with respect to the inclusion of child-centered items and children's involvement in the process of developing indicators. The child indicators developed in some advanced countries showed their more focusing on children's well-being itself and trying to get more children's involvement in the process of the studies, compared to the child indicators developed in Korea. Some ways to increase the validity to develop a child-centered indicator were discussed in this study.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내외에서 수행된 주요 아동지표 개발 연구과정과 연구내용을 검토하여 아동중심의 아동지표개발 방안을 논의하고자 하였다. 특히 아동에게 새로운 역할을 부여한 최근의 아동중심 지표개발 연구들을 찾아 검토함으로써 향후 아동중심의 아동지표개발 연구의 가능성을 탐색하였다. 연구방법으로는 국내외 주요 아동지표 개발연구 문헌들을 대상으로 연구절차와 아동지표 내용의 사례들을 분석하되, 아동의 행복을 나타내는 지표를 선정하기 위한 노력, 개발과정에서의 아동의 의견을 반영하려는 노력 등을 중심으로 분석하였다. 국내외 아동지표 연구의 검토 결과, 국내의 아동지표 연구는 아동의 삶과 아동정책 모니터링을 위한 지표 선정을 중요시 한 점에서 큰 의의가 있었으나 아동의 의견을 포함하거나 직접적 참여를 통한 연구는 시도하지 못하였다. 반면에 외국의 아동지표 연구는 사회지표의 일부가 아닌 아동지표로서의 독립적 위상을 확립하고, 아동지표 연구의 양적 증가, 생존과 보호 등 소극적 아동지표에서부터 벗어나 아동의 행복을 나타내는 적극적 지표를 포함하려는 노력, 그리고 지표의 타당성 확보와 지표개발과정에서의 아동참여를 포함시킨 아동중심 지표개발 등, 진전된 변화가 일고 있다. 연구결과를 토대로 한국에서의 아동중심 아동지표 개발 연구 관련 시사점을 논의하였다.
