대조의 미학: 로렌스의 상징 = The Aesthetics of Contrast: Lawrence's symbols

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the novels of D. H. Lawrence, visual, institutive, and sensual images are very important. He explains about the dualism using contrastable symbols. He presents us contrastable images like dark an light, eagle and dove, tiger and lamb, and lion and unicorn as symbols to show the strengths and conflicts between them allusively. He continually insists the dual and constable relationship of being in the universe. The contrastable symbolic patterns in his works are shown as a transmittant of characters' inner mind, as the independent scenes that have juxtaposed characters' dispositions, or as the place like woods which is compared with the industrial town and delivers his themes that are the recovery of human nature and the consummation.
