구조/행위 대립 극복으로서 루만의 커뮤니케이션 체계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 니클라스 루만의 커뮤니케이션 체계 이론이 구조/행위 대립 문제를 해결할 잠재력을 가지고 있다고 해석한다. 본 논문의 해석에 따르면, 루만적 해법의 출발점은 행위도 구조도 아니다. 가장 먼저 발생하는 것은 커뮤니케이션이다. 행위와 구조는 커뮤니케이션 다음에야 발생한다. 그때그때 발생한 행위와 구조는 후속 커뮤니케이션의 전제 조건이 된다. 이 해법은 루만의 커뮤니케이션 체계 이론의 세 개념 혹은 관점의 조합에서 도출된다. 첫째, 사회적 행위 개념을 행위를 구성하며 후속 커뮤니케이션 행위를 이끌어내는 커뮤니케이션 개념으로 대체한다. 둘째, 역시 분석의 출발점으로서 최종적인 어떤 것으로 이해되는 구조 개념을, 시간 축 위에서 발현과 휴지(休止)를 반복하는 기대(의 구조)로서 파악한다. 셋째, 시간 차원에서의 행위/구조의 변화가 “사건/구조”의 상보적 진행 유형을 통해 나타난다는 점을 분석한다. 사건/구조(혹은 행위/구조)의 반복은, 타자준거를 실행하는 개방체계와 자기준거를 실행하는 폐쇄체계의 반복에 의해 진행된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper interprets that the theory of communication system by Niklas Luhmann has the potential to solve the dilemma of structure/action. According to the interpretation of this paper, neither action nor structure is the starting point of Luhmann’s solution. The starting point is communication which occurs before anything else. Action occurs, and structure takes effect only after communication. The very action and structure build the precondition of the following communication. This kind of solution is derived from the combination of three concepts or perspectives from the Luhmann"s Supertheorie. The first concept is to replace the concept social action with that of communication constituting social action and stimulating the following communication. Also the concept structure, generally understood as starting point of analysis and used as the last independent variable, is dealt with as (the structure) of expectation repeating the pattern of emergence and pause on the time axis. And thirdly, it is analyzed that changes of action/structure on the time dimension reveals the complementary progressive pattern of event/structure. The repeating progress of event/structure (or event/structure) is explained through the repeating of the open system doing foreign reference and the closed system doing self reference.
