Electrophoretic methods were used to estimate the degree of genetic variation among the species Drosophila auraria, D. biauraria, D. triauraria and D. quadraria. Out of the 17 loci examined 8 loci (Adh, Mdh-1, Mdh-2, Me, Xdh, Odh, Gdh, Fum) were monomorphic with identical mobility in all species, 5 loci (Est-α, Est-β, Aph, Acph, Amy) polymorphic in all species. D. triauraria showed a high value in the % polymorphism (P=47.06) and the mean proportion of heterozygous individuals (H=0.2266). Rogers` genetic similarity was estimated on the basis of allelic frequency for 17 loci. The mean genetic similarity coefficient among four species is 0.8205. Therefore it is concluded that these species are still at the semispecies level.
