국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회변혁을 위한 정치적 주체 형성에서 교육은 중요한 문제이다. 이는 ‘고전적/정통 마르크스주의’의 전통에서도 마찬가지이다. 마르크스의 문제설정은 교육의 역할을 지극히 제한하는 것으로서, 그 역할은 부정적인 것으로 여겨진다. 이에 따르면, 교육을 통해 환경과 인간의 변화를 파악하려는 시도는 그릇된 것이다. 반면, 레닌의 문제 설정은 교육의 역할을 막중한 것으로 설정한다. 노동자계급이 스스로 도달할 수 있는 정치의식 수준에는 명백한 한계가 존재하기 때문에, 전위정당은 그들을 적극적으로 교육해야만 한다. 룩셈부르크는 마르크스와 레닌을 넘어서는 문제설정을 보여준다. 그녀는 노동자계급의 자발성에 대한 강조를 통해 ‘노동자계급의 자기해방으로서의 사회주의’라는 마르크스주의의 대전제를 지켜내는 동시에, 사회에 대한 설명을 중심으로 하는 전위정당의 교육적 과업의 필요성을 통해 자본주의 사회의 지배 이데올로기라는 장애물을 넘어서고자 한다. 그녀의 통찰은 사회변혁 및 정치적 주체 형성에 있어 교육의 역할과 지위를 심도 있게 사유하기 위한 하나의 출발점이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Education is an important issue in the formation of political subjects for social transformation. This holds true for the ‘classical/orthodox Marxist’ tradition. Marx’s problem is that it limits the role of education, and its role is considered to be negative. According to Marx, attempts to grasp changes of environments and human beings through education are wrong. However, according to Lenin, it assigns education a serious role. Since there are obvious limits to the level of political consciousness that the working class can achieve on its own, the vanguard party must positively educate them. Luxemburg shows the problem beyond Marx and Lenin’s explanation. She maintains Marxism’s premise of “socialism as a self-liberation of the working class” by emphasizing the spontaneity of the working class. Simultaneously, she overcomes the obstacles of the dominant ideology of the capitalist society through the necessity of an educational task of the vanguard party centered on the explanation of society. Her insights are a starting point for the in-depth thinking about the role and position of education in social transformation and the formation of political subjects.
