동성애자의 인물화 특성에 대한 탐색적 연구 = The Research on Homosexuals' Portrait Characteristics

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to identify portrait characteristics between both sexes in homosexuals and heterosexuals, and between gays and lesbians. There were 33 gays and 34 lesbians in a experimental group, and 29 heterosexual men and 34 heterosexual women who lived same area and were in similar age groups in a comparison group.
The assessment methods was the Portrait Drawing Test (Urban, 1963) with 353 characteristic items. The frequencies and percentages in the image characteristics in the portrait test were calculated and listed by number, and also, x²(chi-squares analysis) was conducted to see differences in 'drawing opposite sex first' between homosexuals and heterosexuals.
This study results were as follows,
First, in male portrait between gays and heterosexual men, gays expressed more difficulty and stress in relationship and environment contact, sex role confusion than heterosexual men. In female portrait, gays showed more difficulty and stress in relationship and environment contact, sexual expression of female body, and big and prominent eyes known as homosexual characteristic than heterosexuals.
Second, in male portrait between lesbians and heterosexual women, lesbians had more omissions of ears than heterosexual women. Heterosexual women expressed more passive, dependable, sexual control characteristics, and the others had more nose omission which was symbolized as female sex role conflict and homosexual tendency in female portrait.
Third, in male portrait between gays and lesbians, gays had more expressions on stress about relationship and environment contact and desire for control than lesbians. On the contrary, lesbians expressed more identification with male image or sexual role confusion or conflict. In female portrait, lesbians had more sexual role confusion or conflict than gays.
Fourth, in‘drawing opposite sex first’among homosexual characteristics, there was no significant differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals.
