기술위험에 대한 정보공정성 인식이 위험정보공유의도에 미치는영향 = The effect of perceived informational fairness on information sharing intention?in terms of technological risk

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대사회에서 새로이 나타나는 위험의 대부분은 인류의 기술개발 또는
인위적 자연환경 조작에 의한 제조된 위험의 성격을 갖는다. 특히 기술의
개발과정에서는 기술로 인해 발생하는 기술위험이 동반되는 경우가 많다.
기술위험과 관련된 위험정보의 사회적 확산은 주로 인터넷, 소셜미디어를
통한 소비자들 간의 정보공유를 통해 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 위험정보의
생성 및 확산과정에 있어 별도의 검증절차가 존재하지 않는 온라인 정보
환경의 특성 상 과학적 검증이 부족하거나, 이해관계에 의해 편향된 또는
의도적으로 조작된 위험정보가 무분별하게 확산될 수 있다.
이는 기술을 개발 및 활용하는 기업들이 생산하는 제품에 대한 낙인을
형성하여, 소비자들의 구매의도 및 기업의 브랜드이미지에 부정적 영향을
미칠 수 있다. 이에 기업들은 이러한 피해를 최소화하기 위해 기술관련
소비자들의 위험정보공유의도가 어떤 요인에 의해 나타나는지를 분석하여
검증되지 않은 위험정보의 무분별한 확산을 관리할 수 있어야 한다. 이를
위해 본 연구는 소비자들의 기술위험과 관련된 위험정보공유의도를 최종
종속변수로 설정하고, 기술위험에 대한 정보공정성 및 위험정보탐색행동,
기술에 대한 위험인식과 이타심이 이에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.
먼저 본 연구는 위험관련 정보공정성 지각 수준이 소비자들의 기술에
대한 위험인식에 부(-)적 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상한 가설 1을 설정했다.
기술위험에 대한 정보공정성을 낮게 인식할수록 해당 기술의 위험을 관리
하는 주체인 기업에 대한 신뢰는 낮아지고, 기술에 대한 감정은 부정적으로
형성되기 때문이다. 또한 이러한 정보공정성 인식이 소비자들의 위험정보
탐색행동에 미치는 부(-)적 영향을 예상한 가설 2를 설정하였다. 자신이
보유한 위험정보가 위험에 적절히 대처하기에 충분치 않다고 생각할수록
소비자들은 위험관련 정보를 더 적극적으로 탐색하기 때문이다. 그리고
위험인식이 높을수록 소비자들의 예방행동이 활발히 나타남에 기초하여
본 연구는 기술에 대한 위험인식이 위험정보탐색행동에 정(+)적 영향을
미칠 것으로 예상한 가설 3을 설정하였다. 위험에 적절히 대처하기 위해
나타나는 소비자들의 기본적인 예방행동이 바로 위험정보탐색행동이기 때
문이다. 이에 더해 본 연구는 소비자들의 위험정보탐색행동이 위험정보공
유의도에 정(+)적 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상한 가설 4를 설정하였다. 기술
위험 관련 위험정보탐색행동이 활발한 소비자들일수록 기술위험과 관련된
타인들과의 상호작용을 활성화시키기 위한 수단으로서 자신이 가진 위험
정보를 타인들과 공유할 가능성이 높기 때문이다. 마지막으로 본 연구는
기술에 대한 위험인식과 위험정보공유의도 간의 관계를 이타심이 조절할
것으로 예상한 가설 5를 설정하였다. 위험인식에 의한 소비자들의 위험정
보공유의도는 자신뿐 아니라 타인들 또한 위험에 적절히 대처하길 바라는
친사회적 동기에 의해 나타나기에, 타인을 돕고자 하는 이타심이 이 두
변수간의 관계에서 조절적 역할을 수행할 것이라 예상했기 때문이다.
본 연구는 이러한 5가지 가설의 검증을 위해 코로나 19 mRNA 백신
사례를 제시한 자기기입식 설문지를 통해 각 변수들의 데이터를 획득하였다.
그리고 구조방정식 모형을 통한 이를 분석한 결과, 본 연구에서 설정했던
모든 가설이 채택되었다. 이에 기초하여 본 연구는 해당 가설검정 결과가
어떻게 해석될 수 있으며, 이러한 결과들이 기술위험 관련 소비자들의 정
보행동 분석에 있어 어떠한 학문적 의의를 가지는지, 실무적 측면에서 기
업들이 소비자들의 위험정보공유의도를 적절히 관리하기 위해서는 어떤
전략의 수립이 필요한지에 대한 제안을 제시하였다. 그리고 마지막으로
본 연구의 한계점 및 이에 기초한 향후 연구 과제를 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Today’s society is facing the amplification of risk information
related to technological risk mainly through internet or social media
where people can share information easily. However, in this social
amplifying process without scientific verification, information related to
technological risk can be spread indiscriminately. Additionally, these
misleading information’s amplification can cause a negative effect of
corporation’s sales or brand image. Thus, this study analyzed the
effect of technological risk perception, risk information seeking and
altruism on consumer’s risk information sharing intention, based on
perceived informational fairness relevant to technological risk. As a
result, the lower perception of informational fairness increases the
levels of technological risk perception and risk information seeking.
Moreover, technological risk perception accelerates the risk information
seeking. And this dissertation found that altruism moderates the effect
of technological risk perception on risk information sharing intention.
Based on these results, implication for research on consumers’ risk
information behavior are discussed.
