This study aims to identify key factors that contribute to effective research security outcomes by examining the impact of research security activities on research security performance, focusing on researchers participating in university R&D projects.
A total of 165 survey responses were used as the final dataset, and statistical analyses were conducted using Stata 14.2. Descriptive statistics were used to examine the general characteristics of the participants, followed by exploratory factor analysis, ANOVA, correlation analysis, simple regression, and multiple regression analyses.
The results of the multiple regression analysis indicated that among the components—research security governance, personnel management, research output management, ICT network management, and facility management—research security governance and research output management had a positive impact on the research security performance of universities. Additionally, the analysis revealed a significant difference in research security performance depending on whether respondents had received security education.
Based on these findings, it is necessary to strengthen research security activities and security training, and to establish a tailored research security governance system that reflects the specific characteristics of each research field in order to enhance research security performance in universities.
