      국문 초록 (Abstract)

      四鹽化炭素(CCl_4)中毒時 肺胞表面活性物質을 生産 및 分泌하는 第Ⅱ型肺胞細胞의 機能이 어떤 影響을 받을 것인지를 究明하기 爲해서 腹腔內로 CCl_4를 投與하고 이 때 家兎의 肺洗滌液의 表面活性度를 測定하였으며 아울러 肺洗滌液의 蛋白含量 및 體重變化를 檢討한 實驗結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다.
      1. 正常家兎 肺洗滌液의 最大 및 最小表面張力 및 stability index는 各各 56.1±0.5 dynes/cm, 5.5±1.2 dynes/cm 및 1.70이였으며 蛋白含量은 平均 100.1±8.2μg/ml이였다. 體重에 對한 肺臟무게의 比는 (1.10±0.30)×10 exp (-3)였다.
      2. 體重 kg當 1.0ml의 CCl_4를 腹腔內로 投與한 家兎肺洗滌液의 表面活性度는 CCl_4投與 第1日부터 減少하여 第7日까지 같은 傾向을 보였으며 體重 kg當 0.5ml의 CCl_4를 投與한 群에서는 第1週부터 3週까지 全實驗期間을 通해서 正常群의 그것과 比較해서 別變化를 보이지 않았다.
      3. 體重 kg當 1.0ml의 CCl_4를 腹腔內로 投與한 家兎肺洗滌液의 平均 蛋白含量은 CCl_4投與 第1日에 현저히 增加하였으며 第3日부터 차츰 減少하였으나 正常群의 그것보다는 若干 增加하였다. 體重 kg當 0.5ml의 CCl_4를 投與한 群에서는 正常群에 比해서 全體的으로 낮은 傾向이였다.
      4. 體重 kg當 1.0ml 및 0.5ml의 CCl_4를 投與한 全實驗群에서 平均 體重은 漸次 減少하였으며 體重에 對한 肺臟의 무게比는 增加하였다.
      5. 以上의 實驗結果로 미루어 보아 CCl_4 中毒時는 肺洗滌液의 肺胞表面活性度는 低下되며 이것은 그 生産母細胞인 第Ⅱ型肺胞細胞의 機能이 低下된 結果인 것으로 思料된다.

      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      In an attempt to observe a possible secondary effects of the liver damage on the pulmonary surfactant activities, the intoxication with carbon tetrachloride (CCl_4) was induced to the rabbit with 1) the intraperitoneal injection of 1.0ml CCl_4/kg BW, and the study was made on 1,3,5 and 7 days after the injection, or 2) 0.5ml CCl_4/kg BW was injected intraperitoneally, and the study was made on 1,2, and 3 weeks after the injection.
      The activities of the pulmonary surfactant were measured by the tension-area diagram of the lung washings recorded by the modified Langmuir-Wilhelmy balance with a synchronized recording system. The protein contents of the lung washings were measured, and the changes of the body weight, and lung wt/body wt ratios were also studied, and a comparison was made with the control.
      The results thus obtained are summarized as follows:
      1) The maximal and minimal surface tensions and stability index of the normal rabbit lung washings were 56.1±2.5 dynes/cm, 5.5±1.2 dynes/cm, and 1.70, respectively. The protein contents of the control was 100.1±8.2μg/ml and the lung wt/body wt ratio was (1.10±0.3)×10 exp (-3).
      2) In the group where 1.0ml of CCl_4/kg BW was injected, the pulmonary surfactant activity was decreased from the 1st day of the injection, and the similar tendency was observed till 7 days after the injection.
      When 0.5ml of CCl_4/kg was injected, the surfactant activity did not show any significant change from 1st week till 3rd week comparing with the control.
      3) When 1.0ml of CCl_4/kg BW was injected, the protein contents of the lung washings were generally greater than the control value with the most prominent increase on 1st day.
      In the group where 0.5ml of CCl_4/kg BW was injected, the protein contents of the lung washings showed a general tendency of lowered values from the control.
      4) The intraperitoneal injection of either 1.0ml or 0.5ml CCl_4/kg BW produced a gradual decrease of the body weights with a concomitant increase of the lung wt/body wt ratios.
      5) From the above results, it is postulated that CCl_4 intoxication produces the decreased activities of the production and secretion of the pulmonary surfactant in the type Ⅱ alveolar cells.
