르네 파딜라(Rene Padilla)의 총체적 선교 연구 = A Study of Rene C. Padilla’s Integral Mission

Integral Mission was first conceived by Rene C. Padilla, a leading theologian in Latin America during 1970s to the present.
Padilla’s integral mission views the evangelism and social involvement as inseparable duty of Christians, Not long after, in 1974, the Lausanne Congress had adopted integral mission and introduced it to a wider audience. By the time the Micah Network, was established in 2001, the integral mission-which before was mainly argued by small progressive groups-became the dominant theological perspective within the global evangelical community.
The paper aims to explore the key elements of the integral mission, including its beginning and key components of arguments, and the theological developments within the global evangelical community. The paper then applies that Padilla’s integral mission as the alternative understanding for constructing a more wholesome understanding of Korean mission in this age.
Moreover, Padilla’s integral mission and their contribution to the global churches can be useful model for Korean mission theology and mission practice as the member of churches in Global South,

국문 초록 (Abstract)

르네 파딜라의 총체적 선교는 남미의 사회정치적 상황안에서탄생하였다. 이 견해는 교회의 임무로서의 전도와 사회적 책임이비행기의 두 날개와 같이 동시적으로 필요하며, 이 두가지 의무는서로 구분되는 것이 아니라는 점을 강조하는 관점이다. 이 견해는1974년에 처음으로 로잔세계복음화대회에서 세계복음주의진영에서 르네 파딜라에 의해서 소개되었다. 이후 복음주의 진영안에서꾸준히 그 목소리를 내었고, 마침내 2000년이 넘어서면서 세계복음주의 진영안에서 무시할 수 없는 중요한 신학적 흐름으로 자리를 잡게 되었다.
이 글은 파딜라의 총체적 선교가 무엇인지 면밀하게 조사하였는데, 먼저 파딜라의 총체적 선교의 출발점은 철저하게 복음에 대 바른 이해에서 출발하였다는 점을 주목하였다. 즉, 복음의 광범위한 차원을 올바로 이해하지 못하면, 교회의 총체적 선교사명도바르게 이해할 수 없다. 한국교회에 적용하자면, 대체로 복음주의적 성향을 보이는 한국교회에 르네 파딜라의 총체적 선교론이 바람직한 대안이 될 수 있다고 확신한다. 또한 남방교회의 구성원으로서의 한국교회는 남미에서 탄생하여 세계교회의 신학에 영향을 미친 르네 파딜라의 총체적 선교처럼, 한국적 선교신학의 발전을 통한 세계교회를 향한 공헌의 길을 모색할 필요가 있다
