The purpose of this study is to examine changes and perspectives in leisure sport participation patterns of older adults after the COVID-19 pandemic. For this purpose, a phenomenological research was conducted by selecting 28 seniors aged 65 years or older who participated in recreational sports before and after the COVID-19 pandemic as research participants. The results of this study are as follows. First, because the COVID-19 pandemic emphasized the importance of health care, seniors continued to participate in recreational sports. Second, since the COVID-19 pandemic, the individual-centered participation aspect of senior recreational sports has been strengthened. Third, since the COVID-19 pandemic, participation in recreational sports for seniors has expanded online. Fourth, after the COVID-19 pandemic, the need and desire to improve the physical environment for senior recreational sports participation has been strengthened. In this way, the COVID-19 pandemic strengthened the awareness of health management and individual-centered participation in senior leisure sports participation, and led to the activation of online participation and improvements in the leisure sports environment for seniors. This pattern of change has implications in that it expands the horizon of leisure sports participation for seniors in the future, and has implications in that it has contributed to improving the level of leisure sports for seniors.
