현대 한국적 상황에 요구되는 초등학교·교사의 리더십

국문 초록 (Abstract)

초등학교 교사가 잘 가르치기만 하면 되었지 굳이 리더십을 갖출 필요는 없다고 생각할 수도 있다. 이러한 생각은 매우 잘못된 생각이다. 뛰어난 교육자는 많은 제자를 거느리며 교육을 하였는데, 리더로서 리더쉽을 발휘하지 않고서는 이처럼 제자를 거느리며 교육을 수행할 수가 없다. 학교와 학급은 여러 사람이 모인 공동체이므로 공동체를 이끌어갈 리더가 없다면 공동체가 올바른 방향으로 나아가지 못할 것은 뻔하다. 그러므로 교사에게 리더십은 선택이 아니라 반드시 찾추어야만 하는 핵심적 자질이다.
본 연구에서는 오늘날 당면한 한국적 교육 상황을 극복하기 위해 요구되는 초등학교 교사의 리더십을 고찰하기 위해 먼저 일반적 리더십의 이론을 고찰하고 이를 토대로 하여 초등학교 교사 리더십에는 일반적 리더십 외에 다음과 같은 개념이 포함되어야 한다. 즉, 초등학교 고사의 리더십의 동기는 사랑에서 비롯되어야 하고, 섬김의 리더십이 있어야 하고, 카리스마를 지녀야 하며, 리더십발휘의 궁국적 목적은 학생들의 학습보다는 인성의 발달이 우선시되어야 함을 밝혔다. 아울러 초등학교 교사의 리더십을 발휘하기 위해 초등학교 고사는 무엇보다도 전문성과 인성, 사랑과 열정을 지녀야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Someone think that elementary school teachers don't need the leadership. But that is wrong. Excellent educators have many followers, thus excellent educators train them and educate them. So excellent educators have to get good leadership. If they don't so, they can educate followers and train them. Elementary school consists of many teacher and students, and staffs. Elementary school consists of many classes. Generally there are one teacher and twenty or thirty students in one class. We may call the elementary school an education community. And so do the class. The leadership is an essence quality for elementary school teacher.
First we study about many leadership theories, and then we consider the leadership of an elementary school teacher. We suggest that character, special ability, love, passion, servant leadership, and charisma are vitals for elementary school teacher.
