비평논문 : 직업으로서의 행정학: 「한국행정학50년: 1956-2006」에 대한 비판과 성찰

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 학술활동이 활발해지고 학회가 급성장했음에도 행정학이 위기라는 모순된 주장에 의문을 품은 것에서 비롯하였다. 분석을 위해 2006년 한국행정학회에서 발간한 저서 「한국행정학오십년: 1956-2006」을 학문내용과 학회활동을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 위기의 본질은 학문내용의 본질적 모순에 기인한다기보다는 학회활동을 위주로 한 “만들어진” 위기에 기인한 바가 더 컸다. 이와 같은 잠정적 결론을 막스 베버의 연설문(직업으로서의 학문) 논지에 비추어 재해석한 결과 과학적 분석과 학자로서의 도덕적 소명을 동시적으로 추구하는 것이 한국행정학의 위기를 벗어나는 길이라는 결론에 도달하였다.
