The Nuclear Suppliers Group is a Group of Nuclear Suppliers Countries which seeks to contribute to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons through the implementation of guidelines for nuclear exports and nuclear related exports. As the NSG agreed on two sets of guidelines, the guidelines on nuclear specialized goods and technologies or called “the NSG Part 1” and the guidelines on dual-use goods and technologies are called “the NSG Part 2”. The export control guidelines are implemented by each participating government in accordance with its national laws and practices. Decisions on export applications are taken at the national level in accordance with national export licensing requirements. In order to build effective exports controls, not only export regulations by government agencies, but also internal export controls within private companies are necessary. In additions, the industry`s full understanding on the aims and contents of NSG export controls is essential. For that purpose, it is important to enlighten the industry by holding seminars, publishing the guidebooks compiling and explaining related NSG regulations, and distributing the pamphlets.
