순환식 저면관수 시스템에서 분화 산호수 민무늬종과 무늬종에 적합한 효과적인 생장조절제를 선발하기 위하여 수행되었다. 산호수를 피트모스와 펄라이트를 1 : 1(v/v)로 혼합한 배양토를 사용하여 직경 10cm 플라스틱분에 2005년 6월 30일 정식하였다. 정식 후 2005년 9월 23일까지 순환식 저면관수 시스템 베드에서 재배하였다. 생장조절제는 Daminozide(B-9) 50, 200, 350, 500㎎ㆍL?¹, paclobutrazol(Boundy) 10, 40, 70, 100㎎ㆍL?¹, ethephon(Florel) 5, 15, 25, 35㎎ㆍL?¹, 그리고 uniconazole(Sumagic) 1, 4, 7, 10㎎ㆍL?¹을 사용하였다. 생장조절제를 양액에 혼합하여 매관수시마다 화분의 하단에서 2cm 높이까지 담수하여 15~20분간 공급하였다. 관수 후 잉여양액은 다시 탱크로 회수하여 다음 관수시 재사용하였으며, 전량 사용할 때까지 교체하지 않고 사용하였다. 두 품종 모두에서 paclobutrazol 처리시 생장억제효과가 가장 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 2차 적심과 함께 paclobutrazol을 처리하였을 때 신초의 생장이 강하게 억제되었다. 200㎎ㆍL?¹ 이상의 daminozide는 신초장을 감소시켰으며 ethephon 처리는 효과가 없었다. 생장조절제의 저농도에서 효과가 나타나는 것을 볼 수 있었으며 그 중에서도 paclobutrazol의 왜화 효과가 가장 현저하였다.

This study was conducted on the effect of plant growth retardants (PGRs) on growth of potted Ardisia pusilla and Ardisia pusilla var. variegata grown for a short term in an ebb and flow system. Plants were planted in 10 ㎝ plastic pots, containing a mixture of peat moss and perlite (1 : 1, v/v) on 30 June 2005 and were grown until 23 Sep. 2005. The PGRs used were 50, 200, 350, 500 ㎎ㆍL?¹ daminozide (B-9), 10, 40, 70, 100 ㎎ㆍL?¹ paclobutrazol (Boundy), and 5, 15, 25, 35 ㎎ㆍL?¹ ethephon (Florel). On every irrigation, the nutrient solution containing PGRs was supplied at a 2 cm depth and was kept for 15~20 minutes. The surplus nutrient solution was drained back into the tank for next irrigations. In both cultivars, paclobutrazol gave the most pronounced effect in inhibition of stretchiness. Ardisia pusilla, which was pinched just before initiation of paclobutrazol treatment, resulted in the greatest inhibition of shoot elongation. Daminozide treatments above 200 ㎎ㆍL?¹ also gave reduction of shoot length. However, ethephon treatments gave no dwarfing effect in Ardisia pusilla. Inhibition of stretchiness was observed even in the lowest concentration treatments. Among the PGRs, paclobutrazol was the most effective in suppressing plant stretchiness.
