디지털시대 전통 기록과 스토리텔링 연구 = A Research on Traditional Records and Storytelling in Digital Times

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The story in digital times is made and spreaded and disappeared through several digital media. It got divided between the story focused on the artistic beauty and the story focused on the practical use. The goal of this study is the research about the problem and present state of the artistic story in digital times.
‘One Source‘ is very important key in the digital contents. But discussing about ‘One Source‘ don't deepen in korea. A part of speech of ‘One Source‘ should not be a noun but be a verb. It is also not a finished product but a process to finish.
Writers who hope to gain the trust of readers must perfectly describe the whole world in which main characters live. If periods in that world are the old days that writers and readers can not memorize, Writers should depend on traditional records. In order to develop the level of the story, encyclopedia that specially focused on the period and the subject must be made by scholars who have studied and translated traditional records.
Most new young readers are not interested in traditional readers. It is necessary to make a point of contact between old stories and new readers. Modern genres are the cultural roads from the past to the future.
The story in the digital times is made in not only paper but also cyber space. The web is important and easy field when readers want to read some beautiful stories. Numerous stories are simultaneously made and disappeared in various cyber space. Traditional records are definitely re-writed by new writers who are intimate with digital media and is re-made on from paper to cyber space. Digital storyteller must study a close connection between analogical records and digital media.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

디지털 시대 이야기는 다양한 미디어 매체를 통해 생성, 전파, 소멸되고 있다. 그것은 크게 예술성을 추구하는 이야기와 실용성을 추구하는 이야기로 양분된다. 이 논문은 이야기 예술의 큰 흐름 속에서 현재 예술적 이야기들의 현황과 문제점을 파악하는 것을 목표로 삼는다.
전통기록과 관련하여 ‘원 소스’를 둘러싼 논의는 꾸준히 전개되어 왔지만 구체적인 성과물이나 이론적 심화를 가져오지는 못했다. 원 소스는 ‘명사형’이 아니라 ‘동사형’으로 파악할 필요가 있다. 또한 완성된 결과물이 아니라 완성시켜 나가야 하는 이야기로 파악해야 한다.
독자들이 신뢰할 수 있는 이야기를 만들기 위해서는 그 인물이 살았던 세계를 풍부하게 담아야 한다. 이야기의 시간적 배경이 우리의 기억이 미치지 않는 먼 과거라면 그 세계의 복원을 전통 기록 유산에 근거할 수밖에 없다. 이 유산들을 각 시기별, 주제별로 분류한 사전이 있다면 창작의 시간을 단축하고 수준을 향상시킬 수 있는 밑바탕이 될 것이다. 유형, 무형의 문화에 관한 사전 역시 전문가들과 창작자들의 논의 속에서 새롭게 탄생해야 한다.
디지털 시대 독자들과 호흡하기 위해서는 전통 기록 유산들로부터 뽑아낸 이야기를 현대인들에게 친숙한 장르와 연결시키려는 노력이 필요하다. 고전에 친숙하고 고전 번역에 열성적인 학자들이 ‘문화콘텐츠 감각’까지 익힌다면 과거와 현재가 만나는 새로운 이야기들을 창조할 수 있을 것이다.
디지털 시대는 책을 통한 이야기는 물론이고 인터넷으로 대표되는 사이버 공간이나 영상 매체를 통한 이야기 창출도 일찍부터 시도되어 성과를 내고 있다. 한국 문화콘텐츠 진흥원을 중심으로 활발하게 진행되는 문화원형 사업 역시 전통 기록 유산을 바탕으로 이야기의 근원이 되는 요소들을 발굴하여 다양한 매체로 활용하려는 의도에서 기획되었다.
전통기록유산에는 다양한 인간군상의 삶이 꼼꼼하게 기록되어 있다. 그 기록들을 바탕으로 ‘원 라이프 멀티 스토리’ 즉 하나의 삶에서 다양한 이야기들을 펼쳐 보이는 시도가 절실히 요구된다 하겠다.
