This study aims to examine the effects of the English Program in Korea (EPIK) administered in a metropolitan city of Korea. The levels of satisfaction with the program among the four parties involved were investigated along with some possibilities and future directions for running the EPIK more effectively. 2,282 students, 2,159 parents, 61 Korean English teachers, and 173 native English-speaking teachers participated in the surveys and part of them in the focus group interviews. Results of data analysis indicated that both Korean and native English-speaking teachers perceived that the EPIK had been beneficial in improving students` English abilities and their understanding of the target culture. Students` overall responses to the effectiveness of the EPIK were positive though their satisfaction level was slightly lower than that of the teachers`. Parents of the elementary school students showed greater preference for having native English-speaking teachers in school than the other groups of parents. Findings of the study can provide educational administrators with insightful future directions for the program.
