So far, the most popular explanation of commitment was done by Porter, Steers, Mowday, and Boulian(1974). Porter et al., define commitment as a construct which has three Primary components: (1) a strong belief in and acceptance of the organization's goals and values ; (2) a willingness to exert considerable effort on behalf of the organization ; and (3) a strong desire to maintain membership in the organization. Commitment can generally be defined as a state in which individuals identify with their organization and its goals, and try to maintain membership in order to achieve those goals. The antecedents on organizational commitment are the following characters ; (1) personal characteristics (2) role-related characteristics (3) job characteristics (4) organization stcuctmal characteristics (5) work experiencess But, most commitment concerts, theories, and practices have been developed in Western countrles, mainly in the United States.
