This study was undertaken to examine serum component concentrations and electrophoretic patterns of female rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) living in (0‰, 5‰, 10‰, and 15‰ of seawater, respectively. The level of albumin and total protein showed to change in each salinity, but didn`t significantly (P<0.05) change. The level of calcium showed no significant (P<0.05) change in each salinity in Oncorhynchus mykiss. When fish was adapted from 0‰, to 5‰,10‰, and 15‰,each glucose level showed no significant (P<0.05) change. Alkaline phosphatase was at the highest peak in l5‰,salinity. The level of serum enzymes such as SGOT and SGPT was higher in seawater-adapted group than in freshwater group, respectively. The level of phosphorus changed significantly (P<0.05) in 15‰,salinity, was at the highest peak. The serum osmotic pressure of each group in Oncorhynchus mykiss was over 300 mOsmol. Correlation coefficient between serum albumin and calcium of individuals in 5‰, was +0.888. Correlation coefficient between serum cholesterol and SGOT of individuals in 5‰, was +0.965. Correlation coefficient between serum phosphorus and total protein, cholesterol of individuals in 5‰, was +0.809 and +0.937, respectively. Correlation coefficient between serum cholesterol and SGOT of individuals in 5‰was +0.965. Fraction 1 of transferrin patterns of rainbow trout adapted in seawater, was much thicker than any other fractions. Fraction 1 of transferrin patterns of individuals adapted in seawater was much thicker than that of transferrin patterns in freshwater. Ratios of manifestation on transferrin following polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in seawater-adapted rainbow trout, were approximately 67.5%. These showed the levels of the abruptly increased transferrin in rainbow trout adapted in seawater. The increase in total iron binding capacity was attributed to a rise in transferrin present in the first fraction of serum protein in individuals adapted in seawater. Accordingly, the serum iron and transferrin levels seemed to be related to salinity (‰).
